After winning a casino jackpot but being unable to cash it out at the bank, a woman from Michigan filed a lawsuit.

According to The Detroit Free Press, the reward was won on April 9 at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

She delivered the check to a Fifth Third Bank in Livonia, Michigan, two days later.

where she was shocked to find that staff workers would refuse to return her check because it was "fraudulent," in addition to not cashing it.

She walked out of the room. "She came back and she told me that the check was counterfeit and she could not give it back to me," Pugh said in a statement to The Detroit Free Press.

Pugh asserts that when she initially entered the bank, her goals were to open a checking account and make a first deposit of the paycheck she had received.
